My FIL's birthday is April 2nd, going to be 80 this yr. Ever since I met him I tell him happy birthday on the first. He says no it's tomorrow. BS, you were born on the first, your mom just lied and said it was the 2nd so you wouldn't be a fool. He didn't skip a beat, nonchalantly said, 'your probably right, I was born on the second and she lied' and laughed.
Didn't get it till he let me in on the 'joke'
His mom was German and 'lied' is a type of German song, solo voice with a piano.

That is just for temp right? What do you recommend for a hydrometer?
I use one from incubator warehouse to make sure the hygrometer in the incubator is working correctly.

psst...keep it quiet...humidity is worried about way too much....Temperature is a lot more important because of the control range needed. 20% compared to 1% for temperatures. Almost all the time it is temperature that hurts the hatch...including drowning....because the liquid in the egg is more often caused buy the chick not absorbing it because the temps are too low....and incubating below 25% will kill them.....to fine tune hatching, after you get to 75% hatch averages...then work on humidity

Calibrate the hygrometer from incubator warehouse. There are some good guides in the learning center

My final count is 7 chickens, 4 EE and 3 OE.

I’m very happy with the results even if the numbers weren’t that great. Fertility was very low but I was expecting that with so many girls and only one rooster. Of the ones that were fertile, 64% hatched. The part I’m happiest with is that there were no drowned chicks. I’ve already set another 42 eggs. Hoping for better fertility since it’s a bit later in the season.
