Hello all my name is Jordan, I've only posted a few times, but I've been lurking here for ages trying to learn as much as possible before dive headfirst into chicken ownership! I am now the proud owner of two beautiful silkies, courtesy of some fellow BYCers at the Susquehanna Poultry Show yesterday. They are gorgeous and I absolutely adore them already, I watched them for hours yesterday afternoon, and they are VERY sweet and friendly with me already. I can really understand why you all say chickens are addictive- I only had to walk through the doors of the exhibition hall and I got a huge smile on my face- their personalities are so funny, and a few had me laughing with their crazy antics! And.... I got my first egg yesterday- mere hours after bringing my girls home! sooooooo exciting! I only got a few pics before my battery in my camera died, hopefully will get more, including the coop, today, if it stops raining. Thanks everyone for being such a wealth of information! I really enjoy coming here and learning more about these guys!
