Ha ha ha

But seriously.
What are you guys doing to protect your birds from thieves?

It is a sad reality we must discuss with birds like this.

Well right now my pair is locked up tight in my workshop out back, and no one knows I have them. For the coop, I will be building solid wood and not a hoop coop. The doors will be padlocked and there will be a baby monitor in the coop so I can always hear what's going on. Might even hook up a small camera to see what's going on when I want to too. Really thinking about also putting a game cam hidden in the trees facing the door so that if something were to happen I would have evidence and know where to start looking for my birds.

I didn't know what to do when I caught the person wondering around my property and looking at the birds. I can't own guns because I am a D.C. resident. I did walk out there with my crossbow like I hadn't seen him and was just going to out to practice.
I found it a little odd that he was looking around the Cemani pen. I am not a zoo. If you want to see rare birds, the Zoo in D.C. is really nice. They even have a baby panda. Personally I think he was trying to just snatch a few chickens and didn't really know that they were rare.

I am interested in the electric shock options

I really like that baby monitor idea.
It is a simple solution for night raiders.
But the rooster crowing in the morning over a baby monitor...
Can not be a happy thing!!! He he he.

I have security cameras all over my Property now 8 of them 960tvl IR72 They see in the dark clearly to 200+feet and daytime out to 500+ feet. I bought them from ebay and a HD DS1 recorder 8 channel I have them on a 32 inch HD TV. It cost me about 800 for the whole package not including the 200 tv. I installed it myself, very easy.
Best investment I ever made. Then you have to post your property with no trespassing signs otherwise the police will not let you press trespass charges, stupid loop hole. I have my 12gauge loaded with rocksalt 5 shells also. If you need any help just ask I researched cameras a lot before I bought them. You want a min of Infa Red IR72 cameras to see far into the dark.

Oh I forgot if you buy a game camera buy a wildgame nation 6c battery one 100 dollars. Otherwise you will go threw batteries like crazy. There is no flash to let people know a camera is there its IR,

When did this happen? I guess that explains why I have not gotten my pair from him.

People need to be careful who they show their birds to and also about giving their address out. When I get ready to sell, most likely if they aren't being shipped, I will meet the person somewhere. But I do have a fence in back yard with an electric fence running along the top of it, plus I have a great watch dog that I don't have to worry about her letting anyone out back with my birds. Planning on adding another one to help her out soon. Also helps that I have a neighbor on each side of me and across the road from me that are home most of the time, they are either retired or work from home.
But I have been warning people to be careful right now that do have these birds or any other expensive birds and so on.
