thanks seng for the post...this guy is the oldest...he is missing some toe nails...not sure what happened...prolly housing during the winter months...these birds are aggressive...even the females will fight...i had to capture all the free range roosters to make sure they wouldnt get hurt and move themas requested by birdman55, here are his hmong chicken pictures[/URL]![]()
the one on the bottom left you can see the coloring of the male coming in...and there is one more that is just starting to get some colors....other then that you can see why people are selling them as ac instead of the hmong chickens....the feet/scales do look a bit different...they feel softer then the svarts and cemani....and it does look a bit different color...but still black...the inside mouths are not black either...so im wondering about how black the insides are
the hmong roo in between two svart hona roosters....from bryce...i had a theory that maybe the sunlight would fade the colors in them...however these birds never got any sunlight and you can see that they are not in the breeding program...one has white feathers coming out and the other reddish wattles/combs...but none of these features show at younger age...
I have a theory that sunlight improves the fm in the comb/wattles, much like people getting suntans.
