Hi there! I just started raising silkies about a year ago. Prior to that, I just kept a flock of 12, (Marans, Ameraucana, Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, Polish, and Sussex) for laying eggs.
I've purchased the silkies as pullets, day old chicks, and most recently as hatching eggs. I just do it for my own enjoyment!
These came as hatching eggs, both silkies and sizzles, from Sheri Minkner at California Country Ranch. She is AMAZING. She is just a plethora of information and has very healthy, beautiful birds!

That's great! They are very enjoyable, aren't they? I'm always on the look out for a good breeder for hatching eggs. I've found a couple breeder in CA but I'm in NY and to scared to risk shipping eggs from so far! I'm going to look her up though, so I can see her silkies. :)

:thumbsup thanks!

@chooknook
I did check her out...gorgeous silkies/sizzles/frizzles! And just like you said, super informative! I learned a bunch just from her FB. Post pics of the chicks you hatched from her as they grow out, I bet they will be beauties!

I think this is the perfect place to ask my question! I have a very light cream porcelain rooster over a pure paint hen. I have 5 of their eggs in the incubator now. I was just wondeting if i will get any paint offspring from this pairing? Please no long explanations on genetics. I know about the dominant white and recessive white.

I'm still learning myself, but I think you will get some paint chicks. But I don't know the genetics of porcelain. I think the only issue you would have would be that the white on the paints might be off because of the porcelain. How do you get porcelain? This thread is pretty dead, btw.

Yup, I see it is pretty dead! Lol, I am glad that you came along! Yup, my males colour is a bit off white, that's fine! I will be thrilled if I get some paints!! When I have breed him to other girls j get all different colours!

I guess I will wait and see! I do believe the paint colour pattern is dominant, right?

Thanks for answering my question!!

When I breed my porcelain hen to my paint Rooster I always get paints, however some get a little leakage as the get older. Best of luck.
