The American Paint Silkie

Do you think painted silkies have the same genetics as my "Dalmatian Bantam" mixes I am creating? If so, I'm going to stop using white silkies and start using paint silkies to parent my dalmatians. I need more silkie genetics in them, as they are loosing the crests and feathered legs that are part of my "breed standard".

Thanks for any information!

Here is one of my original Dalmatians, Goldie

Did I get a paint? I was really hoping for one! Never mind the fatty in the front. That's Slimy Bob and he's always trying to steal the spotlight! ;)

Her spots are really starting to come in the older she gets.

What you have is a paint. Paints have large black markings and splash will almost be like someone took a paint brush and flicked the wet bristles all over

Thank you guys! I had ordered the eggs from a breeder who had paints in her flock. I was hoping for at least one! I think I got both a paint and a splash.

Paint pullet in front; Splash rooster in back?

I finally got some paint eggs! Out of a dozen eggs only 3 were actually paint (and 1 was DIS). I got a lot of black/silver chicks. Here's my paint babies. Not as many black spots as I was hoping for but we'll see how they grow out.

I have my first paints also! The older ones are 8 weeks old. The babies just hatched...3 days old today. I believe I have 3 babies and one may be calico. We shall see
