On eb background, Splash can look really white.

Will be breeding Splash Partridge/Calico Silkies, & some are a pretty dark splash.

What would cause a darker Splash?

While Splash can look very white you will always see a black or blue feather here and there.

Those Splash Calico hens look very dark, and In Silkies it's kinda hard to distinguish the e allele bakcground. I would say that they look Gold based Birnchen instead of Partridge.

They remind me on the Lemon Splash Cochin on the darkness and the gold tones.

Calico Cochins are mottled, though right?

The males will look like Red Pyle roosters, but the females will look different because they are eb/eb based and have the pattern gene.

My Blue partridge Silkie rooster looks to be a poorly colored Splash Calico, would breeding him to the Blue partridge hens improve color through offspring?
(Bald neck was from fighting with my black Silkie rooster, who I culled recently)
