This is Joy my speckled Sussex hen who is the light of my world. At three years old she has saved the lives of 3 other hens (came to my porch when it was happening to alert me) when something attacked killing 9 of them. She is also a fighter and survived a series of soft eggshells breaking inside her and with the help of her meds she fought infection and survived!

Least favorite member of my flock? That's easy! Rufus the rooster! Sold as a speckled sussex female day old chick & turned out to be a mean boy who scratched my leg!
