ok, i'm new to all this, but why the box of dirt? is it just for the chicks to scratch around in? they can't possibly want a dust bath already!

When i got some chicks from stromburgs i sneaked them under a banty cochin hen. Bye day 2 they were dustbathing in the yard! Right after mommy! Wish i had a video of that
