Sitka was still sleeping, her little grey chest rising and falling gently as she breathed.

Wind thundered by her, charging at a cougar that was stalking the filly.

Sitka's head shot up and she leaped to her feet, her fur bristling with shock.

 

[LittleLady98]

Wind reared and crashed down on the cougars tail, the wild cat responded by jumping on Wind's back. He threw his weight against a tree, causing the cougar to cry out in pain.

By this time the shock had subsided in Sitka's eyes and was replaced with something else, a mixture of admiration, curiosity... and perhaps a tad bit of anger though it was gone so fast that it was impossible to be sure.

Wind snorted as the dying cougar limped back into the woods. He turned to Sitka, "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I think so" She replied with a slight nod "Thank you"

 

[LittleLady98]

"No problem." He smiled, hiding the pain from when the cougar bit his shoulder.

 

[HollyBird24]

Sitka debated whether or not to question him about what she had heard, then decided against it. Perhaps she would hear more and answer the questions herself. Instead, she merely dipped her head respectfully and headed back towards the herd.

Ice Princess watched them from across the heard, her blue eyes unreadable.

Wind walked to the river to clean his wounds.
