I picked this little girl up from the Swap and I am totally in love! She is such a character and stands up to other chicks that are twice her size. The lady I got her from said she is from Aron Hunsington lines, I don't know much about Bantam Orpington lines, apparently he's has some great birds. Anyway, here she is! I would love to show her if she turns out show quality. I know she's too young to be making judgments, but how does she look quality wise? In this picture I think she is 5-6 weeks old.

So far she looks great. Did you get a cockerel with her? Easier to start a breeding program with a boy and a girl!
type looks good. Check her foot pads. Are they pinkish white? The lacing looks very nice!
Keep us updated with photos as she matures. If you do not have a cockerel, someone will have some extras this fall. We plan on bringing some Orpingtons (large and bantam) to Lucasville, Ohio to sell. Its the 2012 American Poultry Association National and the 2012 American Orpington Poultry Fanciers National.
Here is the thread concerning the show: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/592403/2012-apa-annual-meet-lucasville-ohio-october-6-7-2012
Just an update on my impulse buy Bantam Orpington, we've decided to call her Blueberry. She's just so tiny, blue, and round! I'd say she's 9-10 weeks old, she's losing a couple feathers on her back from one of my young cockerels so she's not looking her best. Anyway, how is she looking? What are her faults?![]()
