Hi, I was Googling for Brahma info and came across this thread - how timely.

I have one light Brahma rooster, Sergio, 3 months old. He lives amongst my three adult hens: Tomato, a barred rock; Thunder Cluck (I call her Big Momma), a Rhode Island red; and Pulcinella, a dark Leghorn.

I originally got 2 brahma chicks end of May, one of which was a girl (Mimi). Mimi died, unfortunately, at about six weeks due to one of those central nervous system chicken diseases. Sergio has continued to grow and flourish into a beautiful beast!

I was shamelessly impulsive about getting brahma chicks. My sister had texted me a random photo from Google Images of a moderately sized child holding an enormously sized chicken. By the end of the day, I was on a waiting list for babies.

I love Sergio's size and features. He really is majestic and beautiful. The red skin on his face contrasted with his big pretty eyes is so handsome. I also enjoy his gentle personality. That said, I am hoping that he gets less timid as he gets older. My hens are giving him quite the run for his money, despite the fact that he is 1.5x their size. Sergio, bless his heart, literally buries his head when the b******* attack him. Poor dude. We integrated him into flock gradually with open caging within coop, slow tradition to collective time outdoors. Even done other silly things to try to solve it. Anyone find another strategy? I read on another forum putting Vicks or the like on the victim's tail feathers may work which I haven't yet tried. Mostly just seeking assurance that this stuff works itself out (sans death)?

I was going to respond earlier but I had something I was told to do. Sergio is really handsome! Sorry for yiu loss of Mimi.

I am glad you are overall comfortable with the breed. Yes, they're gentle giants in my mind!!

I actually never heard of the vicks trick. You can try it, but I'm not sure that's the right way to go. Maybe pick out the hens that bully him and find a way to teach them to be nice. I am sorry if I am no help, I don't have much experience trying to stop bullying.

I have had that issue a few times, but never with a rooster.
