The bullying has to stop...children are dying

I don't know the situation enough to comment on it, but one act of protest is not the same as continual, daily harassment of a child. That you (and others) keep trying to make these associations leads me to believe that a part of you doesn't think there was anything wrong with what this kid endured. If this is the case, I really have no interest in furthering this topic.

Bullying is bullying, whether it's child on child, adult on child, boss on worker, cops on homeless, or unions on society....Now, why did you pick this one specific case to make your case? People through the ages, have taken their lives, because things weren't going their way.

Because it happened where I live. I'm in Buffalo, and this kid lived here as well...and it just happened Monday. And frankly, the posts here have prompted me to request this topic be closed. If you don't care about this kid, why did you decide to chime in and argue that it wasn't so much a tragedy as just another part of life?

Done.

AquaEyes. Thank you for starting this thread. It actually was a microcosm of our society...some get it, others don't and never will. Some will be bullied and others will do the bullying, believing they are justified in their actions.

There will always be two sides on every issue in life, all we can hope for are the people and children who need help, love and support find it before it's too late. And depending on your spiritual (not religious) make up...sometimes death is the destination. Sometimes through death, a person can affect many more people and more profoundly than when they lived. I think if Jamey could save one person through his choice of exit, he'd be happy and whole again.

You opened up a discussion and it's being discussed. You yourself didn't want to go into the religious aspects which is fine until it looks like you were the one who brought up the Inquisition. Royd didn't say it wasn't so much a tragedy as just another part of life. He pointed out that bullying happens too many different people and by many different groups. Is this boys suicide any more tragic than any other due to what his particular "difference" is; is what I think the question is. Because it really doesn't matter what his "difference" was gay, fat, pimple faced, disabled, big ears, or whatever.
