The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

Yes ive been watching alot of lennon the bunny's videos very informative but in all the videos she says a rabbit has to be neutered to be litter trained and i cant find any neutering services near me and the vet near me says he will check him for mites, ticks soar feet and also check his poo but doesnt do surgeries. Can he still he litter trained?
Males spray, that could be what she’s referring to. When we litter trained ours weused Yesterdays News, or equivalent type of litter. When you clean it, make sure to put a small amount of dirty litter back in it and keep the rest of the rabbit’s areas very clean. That way he will only smell his waste whee you want it to be. Does that make sense? My keyboard is being very sketchy and its hard to type right now, so im losing my train of thought.

The vet will be able to recommend what treatment to use. Use tweezers to pluck them out. You can use a dog flea comb (a lot of people use these for grooming anyways) after and that'll help get any little ones out. Don't bathe him though. He'll go into shock, he could get hypothermia, and rabbits aren't ment to be in water. If he's really dirty you can use a damp cloth.
Well, I don’t know about tweezers. I know you shouldn’t use them when ticks are on people. It tends to pull off the body and leave the head behind.

That may work.

When are you going to get him? Do you have all the supplies? You're going to need some sort of pet carrier. A dog kennel could also work if you put some blankets or towels in it and on top so he cant see out, that way it'll reduce stress.

Finally completed the concrete floor cage for the White Rex male rabbit with thin fur on his hocks.

He has a 3x2.5 foot cage with a 3x2 foot concrete pad slightly pitched towards the wire floor gutter where I am hoping he goes to the bathroom. I lined cage below the concrete pads with an old feed bag so any urine that goes between the concrete pavers will go down hill towards the gutter. Under this cage are tunnels/caves/dens where his children will be born and he overlooks his Castor Rex GF. I will be taking him out for frequent leash walks where I will encourage him to sprint. My other male rabbit is in a cage the same size but its a side door cage and I need top door cages so I will be building him a new cage so I can put him in with the other female I have in the other pen. For now he is stuck in a cage in the crawlspace of my laundry room.
