Try moving her fluff to a better location and put maybe a brick or something i. That spot so she cant go back.
I am considering that but I am concerned that the areas I consider best really aren't because usually a mama knows better than an outsider what is best. If she gives birth there I will change the conditions of that location by boarding up the hardware cloth for both protection and shade. I go against the grain as an animal keeper. If Does or Hens want to lay or give birth somewhere other than I planned my first response to adapt the situations to their choice. I have been known to take down nesting boxes and rebuild them where Hens decided to lay so looks like I will be doing the same for this rabbit

Garlic. I use concentrated garlic juice on my yard and the walls around it to keep them at bay. You can try a bunch of crushed cloves in a dish on top of their cages and refresh as necessary.Soo, today we moved my rabbits over to the new house. It went well, we haven't set up their run yet just because we are so busy with the rest of the move. Sometime next week it'll go up and they'll get their nice new setup.
However, I want to ask for some help if at all possible. I went over there this evening to check on them and do some other things, and the mosquitoes were HORRIBLE. I knew we had bad bugs there; no one has lived in that house for months and the foliage is pretty overgrown too. I just didn't expect there to be a literal little cloud of mosquitoes hovering around my poor buns tonight. Their noses were pink even.
My dad still can't quite spray or fog, especially since I'd have to move the rabbits again. In fact, it's probably gonna be a bit until the bugs are gonna go down over there. At least I remembered quickly that I had pet-safe fly spray, so I put some on their faces (I hope that's alright--I assumed so) and it seemed to help a lot. If only they won't lick it all off tonight.I also set up their fan which I think helps blow some of them away and we also had a bug zapper I set up as well.
My question was, is there anything I can like put on the walls or roof of the cage that'll help repel the mosquitoes? Any other things to put on my buns, or just keep going with the fly spray? I wasn't certain if anyone knew of anything that I can use to keep the bugs down.
I feel awful about this.I had no idea the mosquitoes would be so horrible. Thanks for any help!
That’s what I do. I chose a spot for the nest boxes but the chickens chose a different one. Hubs grumbled some but they were moved and revamped.
Sometimes I do not even put in a nesting box for the chickens, I wait until they lay and build the nesting box where they laid. Doing this actually helped me to find where they prefer to lay in future coops I build. Their top 2 priorities seem to be Dry and Dark. They always pick the darkest corner
