100 kg of A goes in. 0.5B + 0.25C = 100. C + B = 300.

0.5(300 - C) + 0.25C = 100.
150 - 0.25C = 100
C = 200
flow rate B = 100.


Good, that's better than zero, which I got the first time. :P
 
Oh score, next question same process! What is the mass fraction of a in B? Hahahahaha, that was provided in the previous question.

But C is 0.3 instead of 0.25............

OK then 50 goes out at C which is 30% so C is 167. B is 133. a is 37.6%. I'm not sure if I should select option "0.4" or "none of these". Going to go with none of these because the mass fraction for C was given to two decimal places.

I think, while attempting to read that, I died a little on the inside.
But anyways, whats new with life? The universe? Everything?
 
These questions make no sense... He's written the flow rate of A under B... Is that the flow rate of a in B or is it the flow rate of B and it's a typo?

Hello, hello!

Sorry, it's technically not morning here either, it's 12.16 pm. :P

Life is going all right. The universe's entropy has changed a little and it's gotten a bit bigger, but apart from that it's pretty much the same soup of elements trying to find a friend to turn into iron with.
 
Everything and everyone here is/are pretty chill. I have to say its only been the last week or so of being out of college that I have returned to my pre-college routine. (It mostly consists of me sitting on the computer and/or staring at the fridge. I forgot how much nothing I did before this.)

I actually miss it though, all mah collegiate friends live, like, states away! Its sad, I got so used to seeing so many people every day!

Cool, dude, cool. Glad all seems to be in order, no cosmic upheaval and whatnot. I hear that's bad.
 
Yes, I know the feeling. I have grown to like the crowds and the companionship.


One does get a bit lonely during the holidays. :P We should throw more BYC parties.
