Well I got some NDG's of my own. They were 7 1/2 months old, and 5 months old. The 5 month old one had larger horns, so we called in a vet to do the de-horning, but she had to go into the nasal cavity. Afterwards she bandaged it up and said dampness was not good for it, told us to watch for any signs of infections. Well we had it on for two weeks. Then we took it off, the next couple days she was active and fine, but one of the cotton pads that was on there fell completely off. Leaving a hole on her head! So we put a cotton swab on it, re-bandaged her head...and are unsure as what to do? Have you had experience with this?

I have heard of it, it does happen. We disbudded ours at soon after being born so we wouldn't run into this. Not that it stopped it completely, one of ours grew a rather large scur. *Another rather bloody story*

The lady we bought them from was 84 years old, and selling most of her breeding stock - that's why these does weren't de-horned earlier.

I don't have an account for BYH but I could certainly get one.

I see, some of our early stock came from a horned herd aswell.

I would do that, ask your question on there.
I will look around at my other source.
