HELP!!! I yelped, then my head was pushed under the cold water once again. Suddenly I was lifted up. I looked up to see who my savior was. It was a wolf. He dragged me to land and then started running towards the lead dog. LET ME GO!! I growled at him. I got loose of his jaws and started running back towards their den. I reached it and darted inside, there were only 2 wolves inside! I ran over to the cages and unlocked Gracie and Goldie. Cmon! I barked and then started towards the tunnel entrance. The 2 wolves started to chase us! Goldie hopped on my back and clung on to my wet fur. We made it out of the tunnel and ran. We ran and ran, until Gracie let out a cry of labor pain. I cant FIDO! HELP! OWW! she yelped and whimpered. I didnt know what to do, for I had never been a dad before. Goldie calmly went up to her and said, My hens deal with this everyday, its gonna be fine. Now push! Breath! I gave Goldie a look, a confused yet amused look. Get out of here if you arent gonna help, you dont need to see whats about to happen. Goldie told me sternly. So I skedaddled out of there, sorta afraid of what might happen if I stayed there. A hour later, Goldie called me back. I approached Gracie cautiously and looked at her stomach. There sucking at her milk, were 4 beautiful puppies! Theyre beautiful Gracie! What are you gonna name them? I asked. I need to ask Buddy first
where is he anyway? she asked me. My tail tucked and my ears flattened. I explained what happened to them. Gracie looked in shock for a minute, then started to cry. Most people think dogs dont cry, but we do. Goldie lied down and hung his head in misery. He clucked sadly. So, as the night grew dark, I bedded down with Gracie and her pups between us with Goldie in the middle, cuddling the pups. It was our first night without Buddy, and I knew that much of the night we all stayed awake, crying softly or thinking about Buddy.
