"The day my world turned upside down" story

Fido grabbed me by my neck and darted out of the way as the mare came flying by us! The horse finally came to a stop and Fido growled, "YOU almost killed us!" The horse hung her head and whinnied, "Sorrrry..." Suddenly, a loud "BANG!" pounded my ears. I yelped and ran for the safety of my mother; but when I came near her she growled. I stared at her in shock for a moment, then tried again. This time she snarled at me! Rejected, I went towards my dad, but he did the same thing! "Mommmmy.... I'm scared!" I whimpered but she ignored me. "BANG!" I ran under Fido's chest and quivered. "Hunters." Rio clucked. We all stayed quiet in the cave, when suddenly a human head appeared at the mouth of the cave. "Dogs! And a horse! Chickens? Jimmy, look!" The man shouted angrily! Buddy froze and within a second he bared his teeth, knowing immediately this was Jimmy and Mark. We all ran out of the cave, dodging his flailing arms. Suddenly I sunk deep into the snow and couldn't get out! "Daddy! MOM!! Fido!" I barked, but suddenly a huge human hand appeared and grabbed me by the neck! I yelped and within a second, Fido was on top of him! Biting, growling, attacking Mark! I flew from the mans hands and landed directly infront of Tink's hooves. She looked down at me, with a calm, loving look. She gentle reached her head down and nuzzled my neck. Everything else was blurry and muted, it was as if we were in a diferent world. She was so calming and loving... the way our noses touched and the way she blew warm air on my head. She lay down in the snow and let me climb on her back and stood up once again. It was so tall from up here! Suddenly I snapped back to the present and saw Jimmy holding a gun to Fido's head! "BANG!"
