"Stand your ground!" Tink whinnied to me, and as she did, I went running towards the woods in a panic! "Tucker, NO!" She screeched and suddenly 2 horses came at my sides as I ran, puffing as they ran past me to cut me off. They both stopped in front of me, stomping their feet, trying to make me stop. I jerked to a stop and stared at them for a moment, then went running back towards Tink, yelping in fear. I skidded to a stop between her hooves, panting hard. "I told you to stay." Tink growled under her breath then her ears stood up and her legs tensed as a herd of wild horses began to circle us, hooves thundering. Finally they came to a stop, in a circle around us and there was a dead silence. A black mustang stepped forward and whinnied, "Who are you, where are you coming from and where are you going?" "I'm Tink and the puppy is Tucker. We mean you no harm, we are only passing through. We go and come from no where in paticular." Tink nickered, her head low in submission. The mustang stepped forward and sniffed her nose, then said, "Very well. Continue on." Tink looked sad for a moment, almost a longing look. "Tink. Do you want to live in the wild?" I whined as we walked away from the herd. She nodded her head in sadness. I nudged her leg and whimpered, "Go where you're happy." She nuzzled my neck and then ran off, back towards the herd nickering happily. Alone once again, I continued on my journey to my family.
