My eyes widened and my ears went down. I tore out the front door after swerving around many people in the lobby, then ran down the street towards the hills. "If I find my family... how will they ever come here? They are too big of a target. Me, Fido and Buddy, My father, will go to rescue him." I thought to myself. I finally felt dirt and grass under my feet once again as I charged up the first hill, breathing hard and fast, nails digging in the dirt. I reached the top and looked over the slope. I saw nothing but grass and trees, rocks and ditches and creeks. My tail dropped and I whined sadly. I was so hopeful I would climb the hill and see my family there.... but, thats not gonna happen. They aren't gonna sit in a middle of a field! What was I thinking? I wasn't. I had to think of what my dad would do. He'd look for shelter. So with one last look around from a birds eye view, I dashed down the hill, careful not to trip. I ran along the field and came to a large boulder at the edge of the field. I got on top of it and howled a long and meaningful cry to my family, "Gracie! Buddy! Fido! Rio! Carrot! Hope! Its me, Tucker! HELLO?!!" I waited for what seemed like hours before I saw a something coming out of the woods on the opposite side of the field. Buddy walked out of the woods, his muzzle turning grey from old age, his walk a limp and he didn't move when he saw me. We stared at eachother from a distance for a few moments. Did he not care? Why wasn't he excited to see me? My tail stopped wagging and my ears slowly dropped. His eyes suddenly lit up and his tail wagged like a flag in the air, and he ran, half limping, but not seeming to notice, towards me. I jumped off the boulder and ran to meet him halfway, barking excitedly. I met him in the middle of the field as he barked to me, "Tucker! My boy, my boy! How I missed you! I thought you were gone forever! I love you so much, don't forget that." I sniffed him and licked him, we ran around eachother in circles, barking with such joy that anyone a mile away could here the ruckus. Suddenly my family emerged from the woods, all of them. I grinned. It was good to be back.
