The Duck Thread

I have cats dogs pig chicken rabbits ducks and there housed separately . And when close near each other very serpervised two people adults

In my opinion, your best bet is that it is a Khaki Campbell drake. In a few weeks he will look something like this I believe. @Lamaremybabies , I've never heard of a American Brown duck, is it a domestic breed? @AxolotlLove , I believe the correct name would be Chocolate Orpington, because "Buff Ducks" are actually Buff Orpington ducks.
Yes your correct Chocolate Orpington, I just call her a Brown Buff so people know what I mean by the breed. Do you have any idea what a CO female will look like grown? I've googles it countless times but nobody seems to have any.

This is what I found on Britaincare(?) for chocolate buffs... Well, I apparently have a very rare duckie :)
The Buff and blue Orpington like the chicken variety, were created by Mr William Cook just prior to the end of the 19th century. The buff was first standardised in 1910 and the blue was later standardised in 1926. Black, white and chocolate colours followed shortly afterwards but were never standardised and probably no longer exist. The breed was designed for dual purposes but also for its value as an attractive bird. Buff is now the most common colour and blues although very rare still exist (2008). Buffs and whites should be one colour throughout. The blue, blacks and chocolates have or had a white bib on the upper part of the breast. Neither of the colours reliably breed true and variations of shade do occur.

Cool! Where on earth did you get a chocolate buff?!

Oh I see. No, I don't, I would guess maybe the color of a khaki campbell hen with less feather markings? And a little extra chubbiness.

I wasn't able to find any pictures of them either.

Yea... The chocolate coloring doesn't exist anymore, besides Harmony, so I guess I'll have to wait till she's grown. If anyone is curious on her coloring I'll make a thread for chocolate buffs.

Im getting all females-two cayugas, two pekins, and two blue Swedish. I wanted WH but they weren't available ship at the same time. I told my DH that I'm not naming them because I can tend to get a little over attached and not take loss well, but I can't help myself :) I'll name them after I meet them, but I like the idea of all having flower/plant names.

And you better believe that I'll be posting pics!

Funny! That is exactly what I got in March from Ideal hatchery. Unfortunately they gave me crested! I specifically stated "no crested". Oh well, love them to death. The cayuga and swedish do not have the personality of the pekins. Mine are only 8 weeks old. Maybe they will be more personable when they get older. Lol
Enjoy your babies!

@NathanZee. This is after 3 days in the wrap. Do I need to re-wrap the wing (for angle wing)
I know the angle wing threads say to wrap for 5-7 days. But since he was caught early?? What would you do?
Started like this

And after 3 days in wrap
