just got 8 baby ducks - they are awful scared of me, which you would expect but I'm hoping to let them free range when they get older and am wondering how they will come to me if they are scared - is there something they like to eat better than grain that will make them come?
Meal worms, dried ones are easier. How much my ducks love them is indescribable. Peas. Peas are duck crack. My ducks would crawl over broken glass for peas. It's hilarious.
When they're little babies, you might need to smoosh the peas to make it so they can eat them. They'll also need chick grit so they can properly digest them.
Use frozen (thawed) peas, or fresh cooked peas (cooled). Don't give them canned peas, the sodium content is way too high.
