I have a question, hope you don't mind, but do anybody's EE's lay pink eggs? I've heard that they have, and it advertises it in hatchery's, but does anyone's here lay pink eggs?
Quote: I agree - very light brown. I got one from the feedstore that lays white eggs - I like the blue so I won't be buying any more from that feedstore. They also had one without the fluffy face, I thought maybe it was a different breed - but no - its an EE rooster!
Hatcheries will tell you that when they haven't even tried to keep the blue egg gene - those are truly the mutts of the mutts!-
Quote: Okay! Here is one of Hazel:
This is Pippy. She doesn't look that stern in real life though.![]()
Those are some seriously cute chicks. I have an EE that can get that ferocious look like your Pippy. EEs are great for giving the stink eye, but it seems to be mostly illusion, as my Monkey is fairly timid.
The fuzzy butt chorus line! Here are my Blue Laced Red Wyandotte chicks (light ones) the darker are mixed with EE/BLRW
Looks like #1 has just presented a dubious gift to #2.![]()

Just wait, I bet they won't look alike in 6 more weeks!EEs are so weird. I got these two EE chicks 6 weeks ago. One was really a nice chocolate brown and one was dark black and yellow. Today they look almost just alike! hahaha.....thought I was getting different colors.![]()
Here they are today....at 6 weeks old
They honestly have the same neck and chest feather patterns! Only difference is the top one (which was the brown chick), has that wild duck look. That is what is so fun about EE....you never know what you are getting!
