These are my not so Traditional EEs they will have straight combs and no beard or muffs, Though they do have feathered legs and may develop a crest. These chicks are a cross between a Crested Cream Legbar Rooster x Silver Laced Cochin Hen. They are 3 1/2 weeks old now but only 2 weeks in the pics

Very different head shape, more elongated. Keep us updated as they grow up, they look like they are going to be pretty!

Oh I have tons of pics, the only problem is I have no idea of which EE the mom is, I know the mom is an EE for sure, and since I only have one NN boy I know who the chickie daddy is it is Jaxom, are you ready for his pic, b/c I garuntee it will not be what you are expecting looking at the chick

think i started to post one and cleared it ... ...anyway ..

.Here are my first hatched EEs.... Lav AM Dad X I THINK one for sure..Light Brahma Mom.

They are in the ugly duckling stage ...3 weeks
The lav doesnt have the feathered legs..Wonder if its the same Mom then?
There are 2 choices out there LB or BO. hens
When the BO hen mated with the LO roo the chicks were partridge color so if its the lav...causes it on BOs,...
I am still thinking LB for all?.
3 were Lavender 2 were yellow with ...each one. black spot ...
The other 2 are solid darker lavender than this one
They are sold
Im keeping these 2 see what they turn out like
Was hoping the one was white but so far looks sort of grey white...hope it gets whiter Still a lot of fading yellow

I think if they have the possibility of having the blue egg gene (from their AM dad) then they can be called EEs. If they hatched from a blue/green they can be called EEs. Although.an. Easter Egger is a chicken that can lay any color of egg -so ALL chickens could be EEs

Interesting they didn't get the beards/muffs from their dad, usually the purebred AMs have a double dose of that gene, but stuff happens..

These came from tan eggs as the hens out there are tan egg layers except for my opure Lav Am girl. Hers are that light greenish blue color.
Hope ones a hen so I can see what they lay Gotta feeling the whitish one is a cockrel!

Ok, I need some advice/opinions. I had two chickens I got at the same time/age/from the same person. One is an Easter Egger and the other was a Welsummer. The Welsummer turned out to be a roo, and started crowing last week. I re-homed him last Thursday, and the past 3 days the EE has been making a crowing noise in the mornings. It's face looks like a pullet to me, but it does have some manly tail feathers. Will hens try to crow if the roo leaves? Or is my female EE most likely a boy? I'm adding pics to help clarify. Thanks in advance!!

Well, that EE will definitely crow b/c he is male.
