The EE braggers thread!!!

I'm a newbie to the chicken world but wanted to post some pics of my EEs. Or at least thats what they sold them to me as. I have 6 total that came from Ideal Hatchery. 2 whites and 4 that I'm not sure what the color is called. They are 6 months old and started laying before they were 5 months. I get mainly different shades of green eggs but one looks like a light gray.

roncrna Nice to see pictures of West Virginia in springtime, my favorite season. I used to live there. Wild and Wonderful it is ! Also I enjoying hearing about your chickens from Ideal because I have ten who are just two weeks. How many did you order and how many looked like chipmunks ?

flower- Yeah, it is nice to actually have seasons and glad spring is around the corner. I ordered 5 from them but they sent 6. Two where yellow which are the white ones and 4 looked like chipmunks like u said. lol

That actually answered many of the half-formed questions in my mind. Illia, is there any book, website, or other source that you would recommend to those who would like an in-depth explanation of chicken breeding/genetics? It is clear that you have learned a great deal from experience, but any push in the right direction would be appreciated.

This bird is from S. America and is described by somebody I consider a zoological expert as a perfect S. American Junglefowl. The dudes down there call this pattern Partridge.
