I must have this hen!!! Or her twin...
Beautiful!

Just for fun, here's my other EE cockerel. They are both almost 12 weeks old.
This boy's colors are just amazing. I can't believe how pretty he's gotten. You can see the colors best in the third picture where he's in direct sun.

Well its official - after much debate on a different thread - my lil abandoned rescue EE - is indeed a Roo! Many peoplle had said so and i agreed. But this morning he let out about three times in a row - the saddest crow. I know he doesnt realize it - but i had to turn away to giggle as to not hurt his machismo - but it was so funny - he is all proud and "cocky" looking --- teehee

Poor lil cross beak dude

Good morning! I have an EE question...I have one coop of many different breeds, all heavy breeds, for egg laying. They have always had a barred rock rooster in with them, but he has been aggressive with me, and I should have just sent him to the freezer long ago, but didn't have the heart, and to make a long story short, he bee-lined hundreds of yards away just to take my 2 year old down, his back was turned, there was absolutely no reason for it. Bad rooster, bad mommy for keeping him around, even after he has shown aggression before...

Well he is in the fridge, and I will be moving one of my well mannered boys from the grow out pen into their coop soon. I feel much better about them free ranging with a rooster in the flock. It is modified free ranging, 4p on, weekends when I can watch them more...etc. So sorry to ramble but I have a gorgeous EE roo who would be my first choice, if he fertilizes the eggs, and someone were to go broody and hatch, would the chicks be considered EE's or not really? I know EE's are a mix of breeds, but I have no clue what half EE half wyandotte or brahma or NH red etc would be. Any input is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

They would be called EEs. All EE/Anything else mixes are considered EEs.
If you sell the chicks, you could certainly tell people what's in the mix; they'd probably love to know.

Sounds like fun! (And I am happy that you got rid of your mean roo!)
