5 Roos is a bit to many for only 7 hens to begin with, but you could always ask her if you could take him and use him for breeding for a while if she is not willing to give him up! the longer he's with you hens the more attached they become and then she will eventually have to let you keep him! If not then at least maybe you can get some awesome looking chicks from him and keep one of his sons!

Wow that bird is almost identical to one of my EE hens. Where did you get her from? Mine was from mypetchicken.com. Not sure where they really come from but I would swear my hen and your hen are related.

Christie Rhae: whoa really? i got my EE from my local feed store... the feed store gets them from "redwing hatchery" in lancaster california?... i've been meaning to call them to ask about their breeders but never have time to.... once i know what color eggs she'll be laying... i might go to the feed store to 'horde' all the EEs... they grow fast and i like the puff cheeks in EE chicks...She's one of the bigger birds in my flock right now and they are all the same age... she was sold to me as an "Ameraucana"... so i read from byc since she's from a hatchery there's no way she's 100% ameraucana...eh same difference... beard...tuff... puff cheeks...

100% or not i am enjoying her

where did you get your EEs from?

Evelle: Thanks... i still need to fix up the yard to match the good-looking birds... i am not sure if they are all mutts but they sure are pretty to look at especially the brown leghorn

don't tell my EE that though

Some pictures of my main flock enjoying their temporary run, one roo is "pure" EE, two roosters are BR/EEs (who are currently looking for homes), one hen is BA/EE, two hens are WL/EE, and then a CM hen.
