Your rooster is very handsome. BTW there is tones of information here on EEs and Ameraucanas. All you ned to do is look and read. Another good source for Ameraucana information is to go to the club site. http://www.ameraucana.org/

I have a breeding question for all of you experts out there. I have a roo and hen EE both are bantams, that are currently in the same pen and are of breeding age. Eggs are in the bator and out of 13 eggs set I have 9 that are developing well. My question is if you breed these two together will there offspring be:
50% EE
25% Ameraucana
25% X to whatever was used to produce them
Or will they all continue to be a mystery?????
Any help is much appreciated.
(By the way she lays the most beautiful blue eggs.)

I do believe that EE is dominate and you will have 100 % EE of various colors. Many will make blue/green eggs but maybe not all. The theory is once you have mixed breeds of which an EE is one of those mixed or also called mutt, all offsprings will be EEs of some sort or another. If you have a mix of silkie and polish, all offspring will be a mix of silkies and polish. So it goes, if you want a pure bred flock all of the same pure breed must be used in the flock for breeding. Since EE is not a breed but a mix that lays blue/green eggs is will always be a mix or mutt.

Depends on what they are. If they are both EE or EE x ? the chicks will be EE. Not too much of a mystery.... you know what the parents are
Unless you are breeding pure Ameraucans and using the culls to make your EE you will never get pure Ameraucana again.
I was hoping that this was the case.... I love never knowing what I am going to get with the hatching as far as colors go so keeping the EE line going is something that I am hoping to accomplish. And no I haven't the slightest idea what the parentage is of these two???
I guess we will see, The eggs are due to hatch on Christmas day!!!!
I will post some pics of the little fuzz butts for all to see. Thank you for the help!!
