The EE braggers thread!!!

MoonChild~ I have a blue hen that looks very much like your blue hen with the brown face. B/c of her ear lobe coloring I don't think she's an Andaleusian {sp}. She has a reddish earlobe. I'm wondering now if she too could be an EE,if thats what your blue one is. I'm new to this thread If anyone can help me determine her I'd appreciate it. Thanks

.
You have a pretty girl there! I'd say she's definitely got some Andalusian in her, if she isn't full blood. This I don't know, but is it possible that the earlobes just turn white with maturity? How old is this chicken? If she's still young, maybe they will turn white later. If they stay red, she could be an EE. They don't have to have beards and muffs to fall into the EE category.

Here are some I took today. Like the recycled feeder? My husband made it with a section of gutter. Any clue from the 2nd pic on what egg color they might lay?

Maple. I swear she was cheesing.

There's really no way to predict egg color for sure, but you have a better chance of getting blue or green eggs if the pullet has a pea comb (as opposed to a single comb). In EEs, the gene for blue egg color is located very near to the pea comb gene, and the two are frequently inherited together.

Maple was definitely cheesing!

Cheeka! your birds are beautiful!

Thanks for all the input and information y'all. She's not a Roo. Hathced 3-17-12. We think our girls are beauties too. I LOVE looking at others pictures too. The variations of each breed is so cool. Chickens are like people, all look diff with diff personalities. Others pics too show me that my yard is not the only one not prepared for a Southern living photo shoot. We really live in our yards.

With so many different breeds and novice {as in I'm the adult side of it vs just a kid feeding and getting eggs} it's been a challenge figuring them all out. Mine are from McMurry Hatchery. Rainbow layer assortment. Split and order with my cousin who is NOT a novice. If it hadn't been for her and her DH help, I'd still be running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
