2 questions:

What do you see at 4-5 weeks that will help you sex them?

My EE have huge cheek puffs but I don't see a chin puff. Weill they have beards? How can you tell?

Umm, when they get older they start to get more of a comb. It's easier to tell some times. They may take longer to sex, it just depends on the breed and the chick and what they're getting fed.

If your chicks have really big muffs right now then they will probably just have muffs and no beard. Maybe if you could post a picture of him/her I might be able to tell. or you can email me, which ever is best for you.

Here are a couple of my 2month old EE xBlue Orp kids. I was hoping for a solid blue bird, but the rusty leakage is pretty, too. The cockerel is Tanqueray.

I sold the black chicks, so not sure how they are turning out. Anyone know what would happen if I bred the roo back to a brown EE? Blue or black with even more leakage?

I have 9 EE with my mixed flock of Chickies! Don't have photos of them all but here are a few! So far they are 23 weeks and no eggs that I know of.. Hope to get some colored eggs but you never know! Either way they are so cute to watch with their little beards and muffs & such engaging personalities!!

Cinder (My 6 year old daughter named him "Cinderella" before we knew she was a he!) so we shortened it to the new "Cinder!"

Desi she doesn't have a beard or muffs but does have the green legs and walnutish comb so I am assuming she is a EE.. If not let me know!
