I love this one.. "What'cha lookin at?"
That is some serious cuteness going on there. What is the cross? Looks like some of the outgoing are barred? With my luck - all the light ones would be boys...
Also, what do you do with the ones you won't be keeping? Do you sell them? I want to start working on a silkie project (I know, not EEs) and I was wondering what to do with the ones that don't match the colors I want to keep.. do your feed stores buy them? Swap meets? Craigs List? I don't think I could "cull" them by killing them.. not those cute fuzzy butts!
my dad told me you can tell that she is my chicken because i hate having my picture taken and apparently she feels the same way.Our girls will go to their reward naturally, and I keep reading how chickens only lay a few years. I'm glad to hear that yours are still contributing to their keep, if even a little. Gives me some hope mine won't be totally on the dole for years![]()
My daughter is like that (well not sitting on a branch). She doesn't like having her picture taken.
Looks like some SERIOUS muff, beard AND neck feather pecking going on in your flock!![]()

Finally broke down and got some EE's. I got 3 day olds from ideal and 2 are chipmunk and one is yellow so I am hoping she is white but I am not holding my breath. One thing I did not expect was how huge the chicks are compared to all the others....I suppose it is the hybred vigor at workMy kids are in love with the puffy cheeks (beards) and call them their cuties. Three chicks for 3 kids and the boys claimed the chipmunk patterns and my daughter is becoming attached to the little yellow girl. Hopefully they continue to thrive! Now if thay all lay tinted eggs this will be a success

Thank you everyone for the pics of you girls....I am picturing my one to look more like the gold/buff one in the first photo as she has a bit of a red/rusty tinge at a few different points.
