It was a holiday gift! I have seen them in the Meyer catalog and on amazon.

This girl is the one which lays the blueish green egg ,still try to figure which egg each hen is laying .
She is all black with silver leakage at her face.


and here is her brother ,excuse the missing tail feathers he is second in pecking order and his single combed brother doesn't like to share his girls .


what colours do you think he is having in the mix ?

Hello Aris! Your cockerel here looks very much like the one I used this past spring to cook up a colorful batch of EEs. With EEs it can be hard to come up with a name for the color/pattern of a specific chicken since EEs can have so many different combinations. Was he "chipmunk striped" when he hatched? Sometimes the chick down can give you clues to the genetics behind the highly-variable adult plumage.

He is the light colored chick with the stripe at the back inside the dish ,so I am guessing that @jerryse was correct , roo has silver and gold with red leakage ,I was trying to figure his colors so I could guess how his offsprings would look ,I know he is a mutt and all , and with mutts you can only guess, well I'll have to wait for the spring and the first broody
