The EE braggers thread!!!

The above chickens are beautiful. I have 5 EE pillets on the way, should be here 16th or 17th of March.
Not meaning to hijack this thread but I have a question for the genetic people out there.
Another thread said that it takes 7 to 8 generations for the offspring of crossbreds to breed true. That said I am going to try crossing my Easter Eggers with Polish Roosters to create a crested Easter Egger, kinda like the Aracaunas in the UK. My question is how mnany generations before they would start to have the crests that will breed true?
Thanks in advance for the replys.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Every one hatched? Wow. Bravo, job well done, I hope you had a glass of really nice champagne to celebrate. I've never had a %100 hatch rate in the bator. I'm so happy for you! Waiting breathlessly for those pictures.........

nooooo . . . every single one of my EE's hatched. I still have four of my meat bird project that haven't pipped but 21 out of 25 is better odds than I have ever had! I am sooo stoked about it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More pictures, please. That photo of your Jack Russel is wonderful! You are brave to have chickens and a JR! How did your meat bird eggs fair? Any late hatchers?

No that's one of Bob's EE wives, It's got grey patches on it's back.
I got 4 out of 7 on the meat birds - not bad.
Out of Bob I got a black and yellow, a black and chocolate, a chocolate chipmunk, and the yellow and grey -i can't wait to see what they turn into!!! Here's one of Bob & Snowflakes

Oh my gosh, they are so cute!. I am so happy for you. I can't stand the fact that I can't candle your eggs yet. Usually I have a supper bright light that my husband (an electrician) set up as a fancy shmancy candler. I could see if an egg was developing at three days. BUT, he had to take the light away and install it in a job that required just this sort of light and they couldn't get another one in time. I tried to use the old candling set up to see what was going on in the RIR eggs, but it's just not bright enough to see anything before about day 8. I'll have to wait a few more days before I try the light on yours........ These pictures of your little ones are so exciting. Way to go!

hi everyone, just got to show these little gals- any guess on coloring? they came from the feed store as Ameraucanas, which i assume means ee's?
