I can't deside which rooster to use. I like the second one's color better, and the first one's size better

What do you think?

This is Mader. He's a 3 year old EE rooster. He is BIG!

He just recently survived a coyote attack!

Hmmm, that is a dilemma, I guess it depends on what traits you are going for. I like the blue tint to your first roo,, but, I'm partial to my blue girls. Still kicking myself for getting rid of my blue boy. anyhoo......... He has the nice beard, where the second one doesn't appear to have one. But he is striking as well.
what do your girls look like? what colors are you striving for? or are you striving for egg color? They are both nice. good luck.

Well, I really like big roosters, so that makes me want to use the first guy, but the second guy looks almost like a Blue Wheaten, and the closer I can get to the true Ameraucana the better ( IMO) Hmmmm, this is a toughy. The second guy does have a beard, maybe it's just not as big. My hen is a really nice white, black mottled type, but she doesn't have a beard. I only have the 3 roosters and one hen. I got hatching eggs last spring, and that's what I got ( besides the 3 year old of course), so I haven't starting breeding toward something yet. They all hatched out of green eggs, so I'm guessing that they are going to lay green eggs, I'm a wrong?

I don't think what color egg they hatched out of will determine what color egg they lay. My youngest flock hatched out of white eggs, brown eggs, light brown eggs, they are all laying blue and blue/green eggs. I think it's more in the genes from the big guy and what he passes on to your hen, and if your hen has some of the blue/green egg genes.

Finally a bright sunny day I could run them out of the coop and get a few photos. The roos are crossed with an EE roo and a GC hen, not sure if from the same hen. The one that looks like a GLW is crossed with a GLW hen and not sure of the daddy, either EE or BA. I have two of those that both have the legs that are slate colored. We see what color egg they lay, The other two pullets that look like EEs are crossed with EE roo and GC hens. Somewhere in the flock, probably behind the tree is a black hen with white feathers from her head down her breast, she lays a nice brown egg almost every day.
