The EE braggers thread!!!

Oh, someone posted on BYC that they came out of the same line. I guess you cannot believe everything you read.

Also you can ask Illia about it too. He can go into greater detail about than I can.

If the statement claiming EE and Ameraucana are not related is true, that makes one of the founders of the breed a liar. He stated that he developed some of his off of McMurry EEs.

They are related, this was settled by the ABCs history page (link posted a couple of pages back by Jeremy). For more detailed info see that page. I think everyone is ready to let this issue go at this point.

Gathered eggs today, well I do that everyday, and found a new egg present from one of my pullets. No, actually two. Both of these pullets just started laying but one only today and it laid a blue egg. Well, I want to call it blue, has a kind of green tint but closer to blue. This pullet was hatched in September of last year. It had an EE dad and GC mom, but looks like an EE in that it has muffs and beard. It is black and white with red/brown feathers on her back and kinda blueish feathers on her butt and belly. Looks blue when the sun hit her. I am ecstatic,

Of all the chicks that hatched two look like EEs and two look like GLWs but only one is giving me a blue egg. The other EE looking pullet lays a cream colored egg.

I apologize if I was bringing up an old arguement already concluded. I was catching up on this thread and kept seeing many erroneous statements. Of course, I'm not claiming to be right 100% of the time either.

Sorry. Didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable. Just some folks got pretty upset at the debate.

SteveH be a sweetheart and avoid the discussion. Just read back further and carefully. Plus I already know that you are a "sweetheart." (nice person)that is

Wild Trapper. My EE started laying months ago and I am still happy to see her beautiful eggs.

Now I have ten new EE chicks from Ideal and they range from very pale buff to chipmunk type. Only two of the buff, which I will keep along with a few of the others but I have promised to sell a few to a customer. I am having such a fun springtime, with new chicks and plants to watch grow !

Great advice! I was not paying attention to just how old those discussions were, and had my fingers in gear typing a reply before my brain was engaged.

As far as me being a sweetheart; I could give you the names of several who will argue that with you, but thank you Flower.

Thanks all, I have two older hens that are hatchery EEs that give me a blue-blue/green egg and two that lay other color eggs. They were four EEs I bought from Mt Healthy last spring. Two other pullets that started laying, have kind of a blue tint to the egg, but overall they are not blue. I'm thinking 2nd gen might with the right rooster might give me more blue eggs.
