The EE braggers thread!!!

Not sure if her color/pattern would be called splash, but she is not an Ameraucana. She is very pretty, and that color pattern is similar to other pics posted on this thread. Especially Illia's EE's. My only black and white develoved red (in the hackles, and wings) and a crow!

Yeah I've got a currently black and white pullet. Yeah, I'm still holding out on a pullet until I see her crow! Lady has a black head and tail with white on her shoulders and wings. So far, no other colors developing, and she's just starting to get her puffy cheeks at 7-8 weeks! I'll have to post updated pictures of her soon. Your little black and white is awfully cute though!

It seems rather that color names EEs have patterns and genes which determine the colors and patterns. Mariposa has silver colored genes. Silvers have grey, white, balck and brown colors.

It will be cool to see what they grow up to be.

Your selective breeding is with a view to what? just curious.

I have been selecting for quick growth, high egg production, broodiness, deep body capacity (hence good egg laying and meat qualities), and now blue eggs which will be more green than blue for a few generations due to crossing which brown egg layers.

good luck with your chicken vision, minnesota!

Day 66 coming up soon, they were hatched April 1, 2011, will post updated pics soon, the cockerel is turning darker blue around the neck and has decent lacing.
I am happy looking at them.

HI everyone. I was contacted by a woman in Manning South Carolina who is wanting to buy a few blue egg laying pullets or hens. I am too far away to do her any good but said that I would try to get her in contact with someone who could help her out closer to home. If anyone here has some girls, please PM me and I will give her your contact info. Thanks, Megan.

That is one of he most beautiful EE hens I have ever seen. I could gaze at her all day long. Where did you get her from?

She is beautiful. I have one named skyfire that could be her twin and she was from Meyer hatchery.
