Which hatchery did you order from? I want to get a few EEs for an OE project, and just for another muffed cutie!

ETA: - jeremy, truthfully you are the LAST person I would have thought to order EE chicks from a hatchery!

Congrats!!!!!!!!
Which Hatchery?
I've gotten some from Cackle and some from Privett via TSC and 1 eacj from IDeal and Murray McMurray.

Thinking about trying some from a different one.

Hi, I'm new, and I have a question about my EE hen. I got her at the same time as my other different breed chicks, who have been laying for some time. The EE is 10 months old and does not lay or do the "egg squat". I know she is a hen and not a rooster, I know she is not hiding eggs, and she is getting plenty of good food. Is it usual for EE hens to take longer to lay? She is a very sweet girl and very affectionate, so we love her anyway, but I was hoping for some green or blue eggs.

I wanted a few more colored layers, but didn't want to invest in a bunch of hatching eggs that may or may not hatch. We're doing farmer's markets next spring and I wanted to make sure we could keep up with demand. Green, blue and "pink" eggs sell better than brown or white, thus the reason behind me getting EEs.

Yes the typically EE take a little longer to start laying, but usually before 10 months. Are you sure she isn't laying the same color egg as your other chickens?

My egg customers tend to like the green eggs as well.

Does anyone have pictures of what their chickens looked like as babies? We have 5 EE chicks, (3 have beards, 2 don't), and I was curious what they may look like as adults. Right now they are only 3 weeks old, and I think at least 1 may be a cockerel. They are "chipmunk" colored. I am just curious to see what they may turn out looking like!
