WOOOOW..... what color would you call his base color? Blue? I ask because I have a barred roo that is that color and I don't really know what that is, but it is pretty

Yup, Blue.

He somewhat resembles a Blue Wheaten.

ETA: He's not Blue Wheaten though, there's some other genes in him too, partridge something mabye?

Dad is a Lavender Ameracuana mom is an EE, so all sorts of stuff going on there. Yes we call his base color blue around here. He is Alpha, his brother Omega would stand for a picture today, he is very striking too.

My little barred roo is a lav split too. Maybe that has something to do with his color. Maybe not... he is going to be dinner either way.... feather picker, but he is pretty.

My Dolly started laying! She has the prettiest green eggs. Also, she seems oddly pleased with herself. I know I'm probably guilty of a little anthropomorphism, but she really does seem so happy for me to get that egg each day. I'm thrilled anyway, so maybe it is just me. . .

Your best bet would be solid black hens, especially since your boys already have color leakage. The problem is only half of their offspring will carry the Lav gene and you won't be able to tell which ones till you mate them back to the brothers. Even then only 1 in 4 of the offspring of two Lav carriers will be Lav so you will have to hatch a lot of chicks to get some Lavs.

that sounds like fun lol
