The EE braggers thread!!!

I think it would be awesome to have a database of pics, to show what they could grow up to be. We could have people post pics of their EE chicks when they start feathering, and then when they are adults!

That would be a useful resource. Last July I got 5 EEs straight run. All were chipmunk colored. There were very little variation in any of them. Of those 5 they all have the same basic look. 1 turned out to be a rooster. Most of them have the wild partridge coloring. I have one that has a black head and one has a golden head. They all look the same though. Which is quite boring to me. That was one reason when I got chicks this time I did not get chimpunk colored EEs and I got a few other breeds in different colors too. Right now I have 2 EE chicks that should turn out white, and the chocolate colored EE (which I didn't think was an EE at first till I saw the legs).

I fine that I get more roos in the easter eggers and marans. But dont feel bad I order pullets from the feed store. bought 12 , it equaled 6 roosters , 6 pullets. So far 3 of the pullet laid tan eggs there is one more that lay a tan egg. So 2 usable pullets. I've culled all but 1 rooster and 3 pullets. I more pullet will be gone when I figure out who she is.
Have eggs in bator but I think they got cooked. Had a spike in temperture.
Now I am afraid the rooster I kept is probably a brown egg producer. So hell probably be gone too.
One lost year. It is the frist time I was disgusted with my feed store EEs.... And I am old been buying them for a long time.
PS the birds were sold as eggers with the fact they laid tan eggs because they were beautiful muffs and pretty green legs bright colors Just the wrong color eggs.
My colored egg layern group is quiet small now 10 hens blue and light green eggs. I have a olive egg project going too beautiful eggs. Need more prett y blue eggs and darker brown egg.

I have to laugh about the way Ameraucanas is spelled. I was on the Ameraucanas site was in a hurry so I use spell check. Spell check wanted to change the spell with a ( i ) in it. I love my EEs And I make more with the wheaten Ameraucanas to help egg color

I am counting my chickens before they hatch and have a genetics color question. What would be the expected usualish outcome of a blue roo over typical redish wild type EE? and same question but w/ a splash roo. Realizing EE are genetic wild cards of course
