The EE braggers thread!!!

Saw that this said "braggers" so, I thought I would. I have 10 EE's of different ages. 5 are laying and have been for about 6 months, the other 5 are 17 weeks or were this past Sunday. So, I go out to collect eggs and saw one of my young EE's nesting (on the floor) shoot, but anyway, thought she was just pretending, but NO, she laid this perfect tiny egg!!!!!!

Mine lays one like that, even with the calcium deposits on it!

These are some of my EE's. I thought I had variety when they were chicks, but they all kind of look the same. I'm a little bored with them actually. I heard they get friendlier when they start laying. How many times will they molt their feather and change their coloring? These girls were born March 3rd. They are at the bottom of the pecking order in my flock. I got them from McMurray.

OMG, that egg is so cute! I can't wait to get eggs! I have one EE who is 15 1/2 weeks old whose comb is turning red! Yea! She is the only one showing so much red out of the 6 her age. The others are still pretty much have fleshy colored combs. But, I am hoping this one will be an early layer!

Yea, my EE are not the friendliest and only one is higher on the pecking order. I have one that looks like yours and I was somewhat dissappointed, too. I got a chick I thought would have more white to it. Nope. My other two came from a local feed store who gets them from Cackle and they are more fun colored. I have heard on this thread that a lot of people get them from Cackles and they get different fun colors. I think I will order some chicks from Cackles next spring.

Speaking of hatcheries.....................how many folks have ordered bantam EEs from hatcheries. I was hoping to home breed some but so far I have had difficulties. The bantam Ams that I have tired..............well neither batch worked out so far. So I would like to hear if anyone has ordered some scoff, scoff "Bantam Ams" from MPC, Ideal or any other big hatchery. I am anticipating do so for new year .

Even though your birds are all similar I would wonder how good they are at producing eggs and second do you keep roosters ? They are pretty and healthy looking and if they are good layers and you breed them, your flock would become more varied as it grows.

I ordered 5 assorted clean egged bantams from MPC and 3 or 4 of them are EE's. They did give me all different color EE chicks, and I can still tell them apart. Some of mine are friendly, and I know that some of them will rule the flock.mine LOVE to fly though. I am satisfied with them currently.
