Okay thank you. I had randomly read something on here about the bleeding powder and wasn't sure if that was good enough. Definitely going to do some more research after this. Not knowing what to do wasn't fun.
depending on how friendly and easy to do you could wrap it in gauze with some neosporin and then vetwrap it so debris cant get into it

but if it were my bird i would just keep an eye on it and not stress it out

She was a pet and docile until she saw the cage but only had her two hours so not sure how much she'll want me to touch her yet. Going to put her in the separate area of coop with the banty hen we got with her for tonight. Thank you. I feel better now.

It's still bleeding a little. Is that normal!?!
i would think so especially if she really did take the nail off, and if she is walking around
walking will irritate it and move the skin opening it, therefore causing it to bleed
i wouldnt worry if its not a lot and if you still have styptic powder you can reapply it

I have red Sex Link chicks two weeks old and one of them has a swollen vent and she's having problems passing her poop they are on starter feed and her poop looks normal please help

It might help to start your own thead to get more advice. Is the chick drinking much water? How hot is your brooder temperature? Dehydration from too much heat or too little water can cause constipation and pasty butt. I would clean her vent if necessary and take a QTip coated with olive oil and swab her vent. Offer some water, and give a few drops of molasses or karo syrup to help her to poop. Make sure that she drinks often by dipping her beak and letting her swallow.

My cinnamon queen has prolapsed vent I've bathed her and she's eating a mixture of scratch feed and other things.she's drying now any suggestion's?
is she laying? if yes then is there a egg stuck? How badly is it prolapse? What sea is dry you want to keep her warm and in a dark spot to prevent her from trying to lay eggs. Preparation H can be applied to the event to help pull the prolapse back in.
