I am trying to give her epsom salt water but I am afraid of her not swallowing and it going in her lungs ! What is the best why to get it down her ?

She is actually more responsive than you would think. I took her for a walk and she ate a lot of green stuff and small flowers. She is part of a small pod of bantam Cochin and she is actually talking to them for the first time in 2-1/2 weeks just now. Paces in her cage ...is drinking.

My feeling about it . I had a gut feeling about it too. Can someone please forward me the article by raven???? My little hen is eating the FF with yogurt. She also cranks her head out her pen and into big dry feed bin and chows down. Is she going to digest it. I think she is appreciating all the attention.

Okay so my choice may or may not work. I have been letting her eat. She is a Cochin and my friend told me that they do not lay every day or may stop for a time. Which I thought with relocating she will have to adjust . The woman I bought her from said she was laying . That is why I choose her. But since she has been here she has not laid at all.I thought maybe she was true to her breed not laying according to what people said. She is a young bantam. I did not realize this little hens frame and I should have watched her more closely. Her bottom area ... not at the vent ...but under I actually noticed a few days ago because it seemed swollen and larger but not like mushy or rotten . I pushed on it a little . It was not hard but soft. She went to bed with a moderate crop. Not packed. I actually did help something pass through. It may be slow crop or egg bound. So I will check her first thing in the morning. Any more thoughts. She has not had any more issues with the dripping water. Am I going the right direction ? I want to check her in the morning for the egg being bound unless you think I should do it now. She does not look at all death imminent to me. I think with the right choices she will go the right way. She has being young on her side I think. She has not even fully developed her tail feathers fully and her wings are finally coming in strong. Maybe she was stunted a little.Thank you for all the immediate help. I really really thank every one of you that monitors this thread. Thanks for being there for all of us . It makes me want to help others in need also.

My one chicken has been sitting on a batch of eggs for about 21 days now and I started hearing them chirping today. I decided to put some food and water in the coop so the chicks could access it as needed, as I was doing so my other chickens got scared because it was dark so they ran into the corner where my one chicken is brooding the eggs and scared her out of the nest. They moved the eggs around and one got cracked and caused a chick to be exposed chirping and i saw a little blood. Will that chick die? And are the others going to be okay if she went back on them right after the whole incident happened? Please help I'm really worried
