The ends of my ducks wing is bleeding.

In the big tank we have Winifred who is having trouble with rigid legs. Stephanie has shaky legs so we're thinking the B3 for that now that we've found it. And there's Amy. I've just cleaned and dressed her wounds again, she's not phased about it. She's doing much better.
The fishtanks are all in my bedroom so I can watch them all.

I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have started all of this. I love incubating. We had a 98% hatch rate with chickens and ducks till the last hatch. I bought a dozen Silver Appleyard eggs last month for $100. posted in the mail, got them the next day, waited 24 hours to settle the eggs, did everything right and got 3 ducklings. I have posted the hatch here somewhere.
Ernie the gentleman who I bought the eggs off is a big wig Vice President with some Poultry Association wasn't happy about 5 being infertile and 2 bubbling on the outside so he sent me another dozen eggs from a different drake.
They have been resting for 3 days and should go into the incubator today. It's just so disheartening. In the last hatch, I could see one stopped breathing while zipping so I took a closer look. It was dead right so I peeled where the beak was and there was goo all over it, so I cleared it out of the way and blew hard/gently onto the beak area and it started breathing and moving in my hand. I cleared the beak properly and put it back. It lived for a few hours longer then died. I peeled it to see why and there was like cooked yolk coming up from the butt going over the top of the head. A double yolker? It was so upsetting.

I can only imagine. I set some chicken eggs under a broody muscovy. I asked for 4, my friend gave me 8. I currently have 2 that survived that hatch. The first one to hatch was just laying in the coop unattended and died. I think it just wasn't accepted by the "mama" duck. Then, the next one I had to assist because when I checked on him, his egg shell was squished. He turned out to be my cockerel. 😁 The 3rd one turned out to be a pullet. But, the 4th one to hatch was a barred rock polish mix. I really wanted that one to survive. But, after it hatched successfully, I came home to it dead. Again, I'm not sure the mama tended to them. The 2 that survived I took away and brooded myself as the duck was just letting them scream their heads off. They are both polish chickens.
I let another muscovy duck set on 5 muscovy eggs only 3 of those hatched.
Hatch rates are generally not the best odds. 50% is a good outcome. 😔

OMG! I was reading this about the tablets.

Tablet
Most tablets contain 500 mg of niacin. So if you divide 500 by 9 you get 55. This means that one tablet can supply enough niacin for 55 doses. Those 55 does can be used for 55 ducks in one day or 55 days for one duck. Or you can simply mix it into feed. If one dose is for .35 pounds of feed, then one tablet is for 19 pounds of feed (.35 x 55). Just make sure you grind the tablet well and ensure it is mixed thoroughly in the feed.

I crushed 2 whole 500g tablets and put it on a bowl of peas and fed them to the 3 ducks in sick bay.
Did I read somewhere that the just pee the access niacin out? I really hope so.

Chickens can hatch duck eggs.
Dingus, our Mama duck hatched 3 in the middle of Winter (6 months ago) 1 died half hatched. I grabbed the 2 babies and put them in the brooder inside, taking them out to her each day to show her she still has them. She's a very good Mum, she is Mama duck to al but the latest hatchs.

Yep, but I don't have broody chickens. Muscovy are very broody. I only let the 1 hatch the chicken eggs once. I most likely won't do that again (but never say never :D ).
