It's windier today than during Irma, for crying out loud! I thought my chickens could be outside, but none of them wants out with the wind howling this way.

It's kinda funny watching a big old rooster getting blown around in the wind as he tries to look good still isn't it?

No wind here. The hurricane blew hot still air here. I'm back to hiding in the house.

I made that spice bread with some acorn squash from my garden, it was so yummy! I ate half a loaf myself. all my kids told me I have to make it again. Thanks again for sharing the recipe.

Yup. And it's supposed to have a 20% chance of rain and be cloudy today, but it's been raining all night and still hasn't quit. Geez.Going back up to 80* again within a day or so and staying warm for another week. Yuck.

That was a first for me! I bet they were freaked out, but he got them home safe and sound, he said.

I am uploading a short video about preparing for someone else's SHTF situation. Hurricane Irma dumped not only rain on us, but also, a lot of folks in our town who don't normally live here. They stayed. Though we received very little of the actual storm, we got her refugees and consequently, the empty grocery store shelves that have accompanied them. They are buying up groceries and gasoline, in preparation for returning or just to stay around for an unknown period. So, be prepared not only for YOUR SHTF, but for THEIRS! It's just another aspect of prepping that people may not consider when stocking up for emergencies. This one hit right in our own backyard. Of course, it features my big handsome man, Sebastian, and his ladies while I talk a few minutes.

Oh, you government criminal, you! LOL. We harvest and put up food and supplies for an indefinite period of time, as opposed to "hoarding". It's amazing the 180* turn the government took from Depression days to now. Used to be, "hoarding" was encouraged. Now, you have too much for your family and it's not fair and others should have what you do, so you're a criminal, like the Unabomber. Grrrr.
