Thanks for posting the pictures. All of your chickens are sooo pretty and Druscilla appears to have a little attitude in that picture...love it. Atlas couldn't be more handsome.

Haha, that is Dru's standard pose for some reason. Almost every photo I get of her looks like that. Atlas has mellowed so much in recent months. He's my good buddy. Love that boy. Rex gave me a good son.

I love hearing when things are going good in a coop, and that the offspring are good too.

Atlas did turn out to be what I hoped he would be. His babies are fat and sassy, too. Wish the weather would be better so they could get out more. He's probably getting antsy, but at least, this pen is much, much larger than the one he was in, so he isn't cramped too much.

  5. "Hunka-Chunka" is a wonderful description for that little man chicken. He is just too precious, they all are! Have the chicks started buddying up yet? I was just looking at your weather forecast and it looks like it won't be warm enough for Rachel to take her brood outside for while. :(
Our weather here is gorgeous, clear as a bell and 67, I wish I could send it your way. We are taking advange of it and putting in another 8x16 raised bed today.

How is the bed runner coming? You are very talented Cyn, and it is amazing that you were able to find that fabric depicting all three of your sweet boys.

Just showed my sweet husband the pics of the babies and Atlas and his girls. He was so impressed and asked me a ton of questions about them. He even wanted to see a pic of your sweet Rex. You gotta love a man who loves chickens and will wear a "Real Men Love Chickens" tee-shirt. LOL!

67*, yes, please! Just ran back out to get them inside because it started raining and it's in the low 40's. [IMG] I haven't been able to spend much time with Rachel in that small space and probably won't until she can be outside so I don't know about personalities yet.

As far as the runner, the blocks are done and the three center ones are sewn together. This weather system is giving me sinus issues, therefore, a threatening headache, so I had to quit for awhile. Naturally, both borders are not on yet, but you get the idea in this picture. Rex gets center billing with his by-himself featured block because he passed away during the design phase of the project after I purchased the fabric.

Nice to hear that Atlas shaped up into such a fine boy and left his teenage troubles behind.

It is clear I could never be a true Southerner, sweet tea makes my teeth ache [IMG]. My grandmother gave us tea (hot) from the time we were young, but never let us use any sugar in it, so I just got used to it that way.

I don't drink anything with sugar in it now, certainly not as sweet as we grew up drinking it, but I do have to have artificial sweetener or it's not worth drinking.

I think Atlas didn't like it when we moved him into that other building, the 8x4. He changed almost immediately when he was moved back into what he obviously considered his home. It's just not really in his true nature to be human aggressive, not coming from grandpa Isaac.
