Hey, I'm just happy to be getting eggs again! We've had to buy eggs
You are not alone in the "had to buy" eggs boat. For years I've been following the same basic procedure, increasing their protein during molt, then decreasing it when they are mostly feathered back in. While production decreased, I would get an egg here, and there. This year has been different. No eggs. I took advantage of the dry spell by worming them, dusting them, cleaning their coop, putting in new nest boxes, etc. in preparation for when they resumed laying. Last week I began decreasing the protein in their feed. Still no eggs. By the end of this week, they will be back on straight layer feed with no added protein. I hope by next week I start getting eggs again.
