The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Saw this. It's XANDER! Well, a rooster like Xander, anyway. The comments were bizarre, though. They said, "It's not a chicken, it's a rooster". Apparently, some folks believe that chickens are female and roosters are some other species, LOL.

They totally think that, and I don't know why, lol. Today I was chatting with my coworker about how my new ko shamos got named Darcy and Lizzy, and she was telling me about her neighbor's chickens and how they have "three chickens and a rooster". So, four chickens? Lol.

Oh, good grief, weirdness this morning. Though we both tested the barn door after locking it, pulling on it, making sure it was secure, it was open this morning, the handle locked, but the door about 5" open. Everyone is okay, but we're going to have to install a hasp. Stupid cheap door. We decided that if the roll-up door ever malfunctions, we are going to put in double doors in that 6' opening instead of that cheap metal door. I don't like it and was going to have them do the double doors when we ordered but that was no longer an option at the time. The springs are noted for "sproinging", if you now what I mean.

Then, when we got back from town and were taking the few groceries out of the Rogue, the CRV a few feet away tried to start by itself. WTH? We have a remote starter for it, but it was in Tom's pocket, not being pushed. It tried twice. I have no idea what to do about that.

Hey...
They have faraday bags for your key fob so folks can't nab your keys remotely and steal your car. https://mosequipment.com/collections/frontpage/products/mission-darkness-faraday-bag-for-keyfobs

I just got one of those to carry my debit cards, building entry cards, etc. (I don't have a key fob.)

I wonder if the button was pushed in on one side and getting that close to the other SUV just triggered the start? No other ideas. No one can get to our vehicles and it was in our own driveway by the house.

(You could put your remote starter in it while in the pocket to be sure it isn't sending/receiving signals.)

Probably best to just leave the remote starter in the house. We never use that thing. It just came with the CRV. But, you're right, it might work for that purpose, or it should.

Yikes, glad nothing got into the barn while the door was open!

I’ve got an egg bound chicken in my bathroom again. Ugh. Same one that got egg bound with her first egg. She hasn’t laid in a few months but with the days getting longer looks like she’s starting up with a bang again. Gave her some calcium and will give her a warm bath after lunch. If she wasn’t my son’s chicken I’m not sure I’d bother dealing with it again (ended up with a $100 vet visit last time).
