The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Ahhhhh, she's leaving a backdoor for herself in case things don't work out over there. She may be cruel, and a mental case, but she's not entirely stupid. I hope he's wise enough to see her game plan, and not stupid enough to fall for it, if she tries coming back to him.

So....
I hear that most of the divorce issues can be settled via email now. If it's the same as here, all she would have to do is send in the form from the email and that will settle it. They email back the finalization information.

Did the court order her to get that paper in before she goes out of the country?

Hi, I'll have to catch up this weekend. Been busy trying to buy a 100 year old house in Indiana near Louisville ky. My daughter's excited that I am moving near her. We will finally be living near eachother . And 3 grandkids, 2 are in HS. It's on an acre and will be great except they need a coop for the winter. And my horse will need a winter coat, I guess.

I had to euthanize 2 chickens today. One was a Creve that had a pendulous crop and was not doing well. The other was a 9 year old Jersey that I discovered today had fly strike so bad that much of her lower insides were affected and there was no way to clear it all out. I am sad but I know they had a spoiled good life .

Sorry about your hens. Ladyhawk had a hen with a fly strike like that, it was awful. Feathers hide stuff so well. Her vet came and wanted to do a prosthetic bottom for her from a horse's kneecap material if she survived the huge antibiotic he gave her, but it was just too bad. What a guy, to want to do that for her, I mean who even thinks of that for a hen! That's how bad it was. That hen was watching over a dying head hen, too, not showing that she herself was dying. Both were daughters of my Suede. Tough gals.

I sent you a PM awhile back, lady! Congrats on your new place. Snow, ack! I lived in Dayton, Ohio for almost 12 years so I know what winter is like up there. And a friend of mine just moved back from Indiana to the Ocala, FL area. She used to live close to me. She is the person who gave me the eggs that my almost 12 yr old Amanda and her late sister, Becca, came from.

seminole, sorry about your chickens. Congratulations on your new home. Dh is from a small town called Logansport in IN. My parents lived in Paducah, KY. I liked Paducah in the winter, but I didn't like Logansport. Paducah is protected some from the extremes of winter by the mountain range, so the winters are not so harsh, and they don't get nearly as much snow. Logansport, on the other hand, got way too much snow for my liking.

Those mountains can really shelter certain areas, for sure.

That's what I keep telling him, but I think it will actually take her being out of the house (and country) for him to really "get it". She leaves Oct 6 for England, if I recall.

He is back in the gym, trying to get his health back. Already, I see less puffiness in his face, better color, too. He holds black belts in three styles of karate, but hasn't done any in years. His body wouldn't allow it. I'd love to see him back in fighting shape. I told him not to look backward, that it trips you up.
That is true. I made some really bad mistakes over the years. I could be depressed about it but I just tried to remember what I learned from it and move on. No one could have told me not to do it. I had to learn for myself.

I am trying to figure out what kind of roosters I have before I get rid of them. I went to sandhill last night to read up on the three types I got there. I read their news and blog they started at the first of the year. The owners wife almost died a few time this year. She had her gall bladder out and they really botched it. Poor lady. The owner teaches full time, his wife has been in the hospital since May, no wonder their chick orders have been so crazy. I said I would never order from them again but I feel bad for them. Their heritage sweet potatoes sound interesting. Maybe I will order those. HEre is the link if you want to read it. Scroll all the way down to the beginning of the year.
