Ahhh, I went to the post office and they said they had no record of it despite what my tracking was saying but when they realized it was express mail they told me it was already taken to my house!!
I had no idea if anyone was even home today so I raced back to find that it had been delivered and the landlord had so nicely signed for it for me and put the box inside their house.
I got really scared because the box was sort of quiet... But I took it to my house and opened it and this is what I saw:
Thankfully, everyone was alive, just sleeping when I picked up the box!
All accounted for and lively. Still wearing their egg teeth and drank tons of water as soon as I showed it to them. Mixed a bit of honey in there for their benefit.
I am unsure which one is my Delaware as there are two that look like potential Delawares to me!
My baby guineas (pre existing) are for some reason fascinated with the egg teeth and keep pecking the new chicks beaks.
So far so good! Everyone appears happy and healthy!
The hamburg I got is probably the most skittish which I think I've heard is normal. I'm sure she'll warm up to me.
It's past 2pm, freedoms! How's it going?? Any chicks??
Oh! I bet the one that looks like a Delaware is my Ameraucana. It is meant to be blue, but had the chance of being black or splash, so I'm going with Splash.
Yay adirondack!!! Well wishes to you and your soon-arriving babes!
I'm so glad I found this thread. I'm so excited waiting for my chicks to arrive tomorrow. I haven't been able to accomplish anything the last few days because all I can think about is chickens. We have a flock of 7 that are 7-8 weeks old. I ordered more from Cackle Nursery. 5 EE pullets, 5 NH pullets, and 5 Buff Laced Polish. Ready and waiting....not so patiently.
